The Markilux MX-4 cassette awning is the model in the Markilux catalogue designed specifically around lighting as its primary function. Whilst other models offer LED as an occasional option, the MX-4 integrates up to four simultaneous and combinable lighting systems: LED-Spots in the front profile, LED-Spots in the lateral cassette covers, continuous LED-Line beneath the awning and, exclusively across the entire Markilux range, compatibility with Philips Hue RGB-WW for integration into the home’s smart lighting ecosystem. The io remote-controlled motor is standard, as on the MX-1. Cortinsa, as official Markilux installer in Barcelona and Madrid, coordinates the awning installation and integration with the project’s lighting system.
A unique feature of the MX-4 is the Markilux MX-4 exterior wall light, designed specifically to coordinate with the awning in dimensions, finishes and lighting technology. It enables the creation of a fully coordinated terrace lighting solution between the awning and the façade walls, something no other model in the catalogue offers. The virtually invisible brackets of the MX-4 achieve a flush-mounted cassette connection to the building. With a cassette measuring 275 × 235 mm and spans of up to 700 × 350 cm, the MX-4 covers large surfaces. In coupled configuration it reaches three bays, making it a solution for large-surface terraces with integrated lighting in hotels and restaurants.
The MX-4 is designed for projects where the terrace operates at night with the same intensity as during the day. For projects requiring technical specification for sun protection with integrated lighting, Cortinsa provides BIM files in the Cortinsa BIM Library. It is the only model in the Markilux catalogue compatible with Philips Hue, the only one to include LED-Spots in the side covers of the cassette, and the only one featuring an exterior wall light designed specifically to coordinate with it.
