Bespoke artisan manufacture for singular projects. Two variants available: iron arms for classic installations of maximum durability, and wooden arms for projects where the warmth of natural material takes priority. Inclination from 0° to 170°, width up to 550 cm, and high UV-resistance technical fabrics.
Our artisan straight-drop awnings are meticulously made to measure to perfectly suit the requirements of each project. These are not standard catalogue products but specific solutions for historic buildings, protected façades, and singular architectural projects.
Available with forged iron arms for classic installations of maximum robustness and durability, or with wooden arms for projects where the warmth and expression of natural material is sought. In both cases, fixing is carried out via a bracket for front mounting.
The widest inclination range of any awning system in the Cortinsa catalogue. From fully horizontal to nearly vertical, adaptable to any façade orientation and any angle of solar incidence.
70 mm diameter rolling tube, maximum width of 550 cm, and arm projection up to 250 cm. Constant canvas tension with optional wall and ceiling fixing. Fully vertical coverage when deployed.
Available with acrylic and polyscreen fabrics of high resistance to weathering and UV rays. Canvas range: Acrílico, Screen 4000P, Screen 6000, Screen 7000, Soltis 86, Soltis Lounge 96, Soltis Performance 92.
Adaptable for both manual and motorised operation according to the project requirements and access conditions.

Cortinsa’s handcrafted awnings are the solution for projects where a standard awning is not sufficient. Historic buildings, façades protected by heritage regulations, singular architectural projects, or simply installations where the aesthetic of traditional materials takes precedence over modern aluminium. At Cortinsa we have been manufacturing bespoke straight-drop handcrafted awnings in Barcelona and Madrid for over 40 years, with the accumulated experience of hundreds of singular projects across Catalonia and Madrid.
The straight-drop awning with iron arms is the traditional version par excellence. The wrought-iron structure offers exceptional robustness and durability, with a classic appearance that integrates perfectly into the historic façades of Barcelona’s Eixample, the Gràcia neighbourhood, or the historic districts of Madrid. It is particularly sought after in modernist building restoration projects and residents’ communities with strict façade regulations that require solutions consistent with the building’s original architecture.
The variant with wooden arms brings a warmth and material expression that no aluminium system can replicate. It is the option for high-end residential projects, rural houses, boutique hotels, and hospitality spaces where wood forms part of the aesthetic language of the ensemble. The arms are manufactured from robust timber treated for exterior use, resistant to weathering and UV rays.
With an inclination range of 0° to 170°, Cortinsa’s handcrafted awnings offer the greatest flexibility of any system in the catalogue. From a completely horizontal position to almost vertical, the awning adapts to any façade orientation and any angle of solar incidence throughout the day. This capability makes them particularly effective on east- or west-facing façades where sunlight strikes at a very lateral angle during certain hours.
Unlike industrial catalogue systems, every Cortinsa handcrafted awning is designed and manufactured specifically for the project. The process includes a technical site visit, measurements, selection of materials and fabrics, and bespoke manufacturing in our workshops. The result is an awning that integrates perfectly into the building’s architecture, respects regulatory restrictions, and meets the most demanding quality standards.
Cortinsa installs bespoke handcrafted awnings in Barcelona, Madrid, and the surrounding metropolitan area with its own technical team. If you have a singular project requiring an off-catalogue solution, contact us for a technical site visit and a free, no-obligation quote.
The Markilux 930 is an open awning without cassette, featuring a patented rotation mechanism that guarantees a consistently horizontal stowed position regardless of the adjusted inclination. It stands out for its motor-driven tilt capacity of up to 80° and its self-supporting construction, suitable for ceilings and projecting balconies.
With motorised operation, the Markilux 930 reaches a maximum inclination of 80°, the largest angle in its category. With a front crank the range is 5° to 25°, and with a rear crank 26° to 55°.
The Markilux 930 is custom-made from a minimum projection width of 178 cm up to a maximum of 500 cm, with a reach of up to 300 cm. The profile has a depth of 286 mm and a height of 122 mm.
No. The Markilux 930 is an open awning without a cassette. The fabric remains visible when the awning is retracted. Its differentiator from other open awnings is the patented rotating mechanism, which always ensures a horizontal retracted position and minimalist lines.
Yes. The Markilux 930 is available with an io remote-controlled 868 MHz motor and an RTS 433 MHz motor, both compatible with remote controls and home-automation systems. Motorisation is particularly recommended to take full advantage of the maximum 80° inclination, which is only available with motorised operation.
Cortinsa installs the Markilux 930 in Barcelona, Madrid and the surrounding metropolitan area. Fixing can be to a wall or ceiling. Our technical team carries out the measurement visit, bespoke manufacturing and installation using our own staff, with no subcontractors.
