The Markilux 740 and Markilux 840 marquisolettes are the solar-protection system for windows that combines vertical and angled coverage in a single cassette. Unlike a purely vertical awning that simply drops as a screen in front of the glass, the marquisolette also creates an angled plane at the top that intercepts direct solar radiation before it reaches the glazing, delivering far greater energy efficiency. Installation is direct onto the guide rails with no additional supports. At Cortinsa we install both models in Barcelona and Madrid with manufacturer’s warranty and our own technical team.
A marquisolette is a solar-protection system for windows that combines a vertical awning with a straight-arm angled projection in a single cassette. When deployed, the fabric divides into two planes: the upper section tilts outward thanks to the hinged arm with pneumatic spring, while the lower section descends vertically in front of the glass guided by the angle rails. This design is particularly effective for south- or south-east-facing windows where sunlight strikes directly, as the angled section intercepts the rays before they reach the glazing whilst the vertical section shields against lower-angle radiation.
The Markilux 740 includes a decorative cover as standard, concealing the cassette when retracted. On façades where the awning is visible from the street or from inside, this cover turns the cassette into an aesthetic element coordinated with the window frame, rather than exposing the internal mechanism. It is a quality detail particularly appreciated in the Eixample district of Barcelona and in design-led residential buildings in Madrid where façade aesthetics are a priority.
At Cortinsa we install the Markilux 740 and Markilux 840 marquisolettes in Barcelona, Madrid and the surrounding metropolitan area, with a technical measurement visit, made-to-measure fabrication, and installation by our own team.
