Why the Markilux 710/810 is different

Vertical awnings with a virtually invisible stainless-steel cable guide for an especially discreet appearance on windows and façades. Compact full-cassette with a small profile, standard crank operation and the unique option of interior-side crank operation with wall pass-through. The 710 features a square cassette and the 810 a round teardrop cassette.

Virtually invisible cable guide

Unlike rail-guided systems, the Markilux 710/810 uses Ø 3 mm stainless-steel cables with a transparent plastic sleeve as the lateral fabric guide. The result is a guidance system that is practically invisible from the outside, particularly well suited to windows and façades where the visual presence of the sun-protection system needs to be kept to a minimum.

Interior crank with wall pass-through

The most distinctive option on the Markilux 710/810 is the interior-side crank operation with wall pass-through. It allows the awning to be raised and lowered from inside without opening the window — especially valued in warm climates where opening the window would compromise the thermal insulation of the space, or on upper floors where exterior access is difficult.

710 square cassette, 810 round teardrop cassette

The Markilux 710 has a single-piece square cassette measuring 95 × 95 mm with a very slim profile. The Markilux 810 has a two-piece cassette in a round teardrop shape of Ø 115 mm, offering a different, more organic aesthetic. Both models share the same maximum dimensions and operating options.

Up to 17.5 m², width up to 500 cm

Single awning with a width of 74 to 500 cm and a projection of up to 350 cm, with a maximum surface area of 17.5 m². Available with wall, ceiling and recess fixing, with between-wall mounting options for installation in window frames without external building work.

Manual or motorised operation

Exterior crank as standard operation. Additional options: rear crank, interior-side crank with wall pass-through, standard motor, io 868 MHz motor and RTS 433 MHz motor.

Markilux 710/810, the vertical awning with invisible cable guide for windows and facades

The Markilux 710 and the Markilux 810 are the cable-guided vertical awnings in the Markilux range, designed for windows and facades where the visual presence of the sun-protection system needs to be kept to a minimum. Their Ø 3 mm stainless-steel cables with transparent coating are virtually invisible from the outside, unlike rail-guided systems. Up to 17.5 m² of surface area, a fully enclosed cassette, and the unique option of interior crank operation from inside the building. At Cortinsa we install both models in Barcelona and Madrid with manufacturer’s warranty and our own technical team.

When to choose cable guide over rail guide?

Rail-guided systems such as the Markilux 620/625 offer greater wind resistance (class 3) and a tighter seal of the opening. Cable-guided systems such as the Markilux 710/810 offer a far lower visual presence on the exterior, making them particularly suited to windows on historic or design-led facades where side rails would be visually disruptive. The choice depends on whether aesthetics or wind resistance takes priority.

The interior crank option — a unique differentiator

The interior crank operation option with wall pass-through on the Markilux 710/810 has no equivalent in the Markilux vertical awning range. It allows the awning to be operated from inside the building without opening the window, which is especially valuable in summer in warm climates where opening the window to operate the exterior awning would compromise thermal insulation. It is also the ideal solution on upper floors where accessing the awning from outside would require a ladder.

Frequently asked questions about the Markilux 710/810

What is the difference between the Markilux 710 and the 810?

The main difference is the cassette profile. The Markilux 710 has a square cassette of 95 × 95 mm and the Markilux 810 has a round teardrop cassette of Ø 115 mm. Both share the same maximum dimensions, the same cable guide system and the same actuation options.

The Markilux 620/625 uses guide rails with a tracfix system — greater wind resistance (class 3) and a tighter seal. The Markilux 710/810 uses virtually invisible stainless steel cables — minimal visual presence, wind resistance class 2, with the option of an interior crank handle.

Yes. The Markilux 710/810 has an option for an interior operating crank with wall pass-through, which allows the awning to be raised and lowered from inside without opening the window. This option is particularly valued on upper floors and in warm climates.

Maximum span of 500 cm, maximum projection of 350 cm and maximum surface area of 17.5 m² per bay. The minimum span is 74 cm.

The Markilux 710/810 has wind resistance class 2, equivalent to Beaufort 5 — 28–37 km/h. For installations in highly wind-exposed environments, models with tracfix guide rails such as the 620/625 or the 776/876 offer class 3.

Cortinsa installs the Markilux 710 and 810 in Barcelona, Madrid and the surrounding metropolitan area, with a technical site survey, made-to-measure manufacturing and installation by our own in-house team — no subcontractors.
