Why the Markilux 879 is different

Harmony of form and function in the under-glass awning for large surfaces. Round cassette of Ø 130 mm combined with square guide rails creating an aesthetically unified, sophisticated design. Up to 24 m² in a single bay, integrated manual super-shade and optional LED lighting.

Round cassette of Ø 130 mm combined with square rails

The Markilux 879 stands out through the combination of its two-piece round cassette of Ø 130 mm with square guide rails of 52 × 52 mm, creating an aesthetic contrast between the softness of the circular cassette profile and the defined geometry of the rails. The result is a sophisticated design that integrates into any glazed roof structure, adding a distinguishing touch compared to the purely square design of the 779.

Up to 24 m² in a single bay

With a width of up to 600 cm and a projection of up to 600 cm, the Markilux 879 covers up to 24 m² in a single bay. Maximum dimensions without tracfix: 400 × 600 cm / 600 × 450 cm. With tracfix: 600 × 400 cm.

Integrated super-shade, optional vertical protection

Super-shade option with 150 or 210 cm drop height integrated into the front profile, operated manually via a magnetic-catch crank handle. Additional vertical protection against low sun and lateral privacy without external systems.

LED lighting on rails and support tube

Combinable lighting options: LED-Line on both sides of the guide rails, LED-Line on the fabric support tube, or LED-Spots on the fabric support tube. Individual light configuration for a pleasant ambience during evening use of the glazed space.

Optional tracfix for greater wind resistance

The tracfix is optional on the Markilux 879 and eliminates the gap between the fabric and the guide rail for greater wind resistance and a better appearance. Our technical team recommends the most suitable option depending on the exposure of the installation.

Wide range of brackets with patented clip system

The bracket range with patented clip system offers individual mounting options with standard heights of 20, 85, 105 and 145 mm, with special heights available on request to suit any glazed roof structure.

Markilux 879 in operation, under glass with rounded cassette design

Markilux 879, the under-glass awning with a round cassette for verandas and covered terraces

The Markilux 879 is the sophisticated design under-glass awning for large-format verandas and glazed terraces. Its combination of a Ø 130 mm round cassette with 52 × 52 mm square guide rails creates a harmony of form and function that sets it apart from the purely square design of the Markilux 779. With a maximum surface area of 24 m² in a single bay, integrated super-shade and optional LED lighting, it is the most elegant solution in the under-glass range for projects where aesthetics are the priority. At Cortinsa we install the Markilux 879 in Barcelona and Madrid with manufacturer’s warranty and our own technical team.

The difference between the 879 and the 779, form and capacity

The choice between the Markilux 879 and the Markilux 779 comes down primarily to the cassette profile and shading capacity. The 879 has a Ø 130 mm round cassette that delivers a more organic and sophisticated aesthetic, whilst the 779 has a 125 × 125 mm square cassette with straighter, more geometric lines. In terms of dimensions, both share the same maximum measurements, but the 779 covers up to 27 m² and the 879 up to 24 m² per bay. The lighting options on the 879 are slightly more limited than those on the 779, with no LED option in the cassette.

Super-shade, integrated vertical protection in the front profile

The super-shade option on the Markilux 879, available at 150 or 210 cm drop depending on the design, integrates a vertical screen into the front profile that descends as the awning extends. Operation is manual via a magnetic-catch winding handle. It is particularly useful in winter gardens where the low afternoon sun strikes laterally through the side glazing of the structure.
