Continuous height adjustment
The Glatz Alu Smart incorporates a continuous height adjustment system —not fixed positions— allowing the canopy to be set according to the height of furniture, railings, or available space. This is the most valued feature on balconies and terraces with irregular geometry where precise height is critical.
Push Up opening and tilt via articulation
Opening is achieved via the Push Up system: by pressing the slider upwards, the parasol unfolds in a single movement. The canopy tilts thanks to a tiltable articulation integrated into the mast, allowing the shade to be oriented according to the sun’s position without moving the base.
Ultra-flat canopy and modern design
The Alu Smart’s ultra-flat canopy has a contemporary design language that harmonises with modern architecture and current outdoor furniture. Structure in natural anodised aluminium EN-AW-6063-T5 with A2 stainless steel fixings. Suitable for corrosive environments.

Frame in matt natural anodised aluminium (only finish available). Canopy in three qualities: 100% polyacrylic ~300 g/m² (solution-dyed, UV > 98%), 100% polyester ~250 g/m² (solution-dyed) and 100% polyester ~220 g/m² (piece-dyed). No valance (valance available at extra cost). Self-tensioning.

Its most distinctive feature is continuous height adjustment: unlike parasols with fixed positions, the Alu Smart allows the mast height to be regulated continuously over a range of up to 60 cm depending on the format, making it particularly useful on balconies with railings of varying heights or terraces with mixed furniture. The minimum base required is just 30 kg for the smallest formats, facilitating installation without building work and repositioning whenever the project requires it. The Glatz Alu Smart incorporates a continuous height adjustment system integrated into the mast that allows the canopy to be raised or lowered progressively —not in fixed positions— within a range of up to 60 cm depending on the format. This allows the parasol to be adapted to the exact height of the railing, furniture, or available space without tools and at any time.
How much wind can the Glatz Alu Smart withstand?
It depends on the size. The Alu Smart has been wind-tunnel tested. The most compact size, Ø 200 cm, reaches up to 75 km/h (Beaufort 9) with fixed ground anchoring. The rectangular sizes 210×150 cm withstand up to 55 km/h, whilst the larger sizes (Ø 300 cm, 240×240 cm, 250×200 cm) withstand between 35 and 40 km/h. In all cases, these figures require fixed anchoring; with a ballast base, stability is reduced.
What is the difference between the Glatz Alu Smart and the Glatz Alu Twist?
