Why the Glatz Castello Parasol is Different
100 km/h certified in wind tunnel
The Glatz Castello reaches 100 km/h (Beaufort 10) in the Ø 350 cm and 300×300 cm formats with fixed ground anchoring: the highest wind resistance in the entire Glatz range. Its circular mast Ø 90 mm with 3.2 mm wall thickness — torsion-resistant — in EN-AW-6063-T66 aluminium, with A4 stainless steel fixings and glass-fibre-reinforced plastic components (PA6GF30), defines a structure conceived for the most demanding environments.
F line: unified design with Fortello, Fortero and Fortino
The Castello shares the Glatz F line design language, harmonising with the Fortello, Fortero and Fortino models. Its continuous mast profile down to floor level — with integrated fixing tube — and the counter-opening principle via tensioning lever with large closing height are features shared across the entire F family.
LED RGBW, heating and gutters: a year-round terrace
The Castello accommodates an LED RGBW lighting system integrated into the crossbars (dimmable colour light), infrared heaters and optional rainwater gutters. Combining these three elements makes the Castello a fully operational terrace solution all year round, in any climate.
RAL 7016 at no extra cost and anti-theft included
The anthracite RAL 7016 powder-coated finish is available at no extra charge — a unique differentiator from other models in the range. Furthermore, the Castello incorporates user security against unauthorised operation and an anti-theft system as protection options for installations in public spaces and hospitality venues with continuous access.

PARASOLS
Glatz Castello Parasol: the all-terrain solution for hospitality with certified 100 km/h wind resistance and up to 25 m²
The Glatz Castello: maximum wind resistance in the Glatz range
The Glatz Castello parasol is the most wind-resistant centre-pole parasol in the entire Glatz range: up to 100 km/h (Beaufort 10) in fixed anchorage for the Ø 350 cm and 300×300 cm formats, wind-tunnel tested. This figure surpasses any other parasol in the range and makes it the ideal solution for exposed terraces, rooftops, coastal areas and public spaces where wind conditions are a critical safety factor. Browse the full range of Glatz parasols for hospitality and contract to compare options.
It belongs to the Glatz F line, sharing a design language with the Fortello, Fortero and Fortino models. Its circular Ø 90 mm mast with 3.2 mm wall thickness in EN-AW-6063-T66 aluminium — torsion-resistant with a continuous profile down to floor level — and A4 stainless-steel hardware define the most robust structure in the family. Available in 16 standard formats from Ø 350 cm to 550×450 cm (up to 24.8 m²), plus special sizes and intermediate dimensions to order.
Year-round operational terrace: LED, heating and gutters
The Glatz Castello is the only model in the Glatz range that combines, within a single parasol, integrated RGBW LED lighting in the crossbars (dimmable colour light), infrared heaters and rainwater gutters as available options. This combination of accessories extends terrace use into the autumn and winter months, keeping the space comfortable and functional regardless of weather conditions. For hospitality projects requiring a comprehensive year-round terrace solution, visit our hospitality and HORECA solutions page.
The counter-opening system with tensioning lever guarantees a high folded height that eliminates the need to move furniture when closing the parasol — a key advantage on continuously-operating service terraces. The protective cover is available with or without a valance (with valance, the maximum wind speed is reduced by 10 km/h). Mast extensions reach up to +800 mm / -800 mm, the widest range in the F line.
Anthracite RAL 7016 at no extra cost and unique safety options
Unlike other models in the range, the Glatz Castello offers anthracite RAL 7016 powder coating at no additional charge. Powder coating over anodised profiles provides extra corrosion protection, particularly relevant in coastal or high-pollution environments. For projects requiring greater security in public spaces, the Castello features an anti-theft system and use-security mechanism against unauthorised operation — options unique to the Glatz range. For projects combining parasols with more permanent structures, bioclimatic pergolas are the most common complementary solution.
Cortinsa, official Glatz distributor in Barcelona and Madrid
As official Glatz distributor in Barcelona and Madrid, Cortinsa specifies the most suitable contract hospitality parasol for each project: format selection from the 16 available, accessory configuration — RGBW LED, heating, gutters, anti-theft — and choice of frame colour and fabric. Combining several Castello units on the same terrace, in different formats but sharing the identical F-line design language, is a common solution on large-scale restaurant projects.
The Glatz Castello is available in any RAL colour at an additional charge, with Glatz Green® fabric and fire-retardant or PVC textiles for projects subject to specific regulatory requirements. For large-scale exterior solar-protection projects, visit our professional exterior shading section.

Frequently asked questions about the Glatz Castello Parasol
Is the Glatz Castello the most wind-resistant parasol in the Glatz range?
Yes. The Glatz Castello reaches up to 100 km/h (Beaufort 10) in the Ø 350 cm and 300×300 cm formats with fixed ground anchoring, according to wind tunnel tests. It is the highest certified wind speed in the entire Glatz range, making it the reference model for exposed terraces, rooftops and coastal spaces. Browse our full range of Glatz parasols to compare wind resistance ratings.
Can the Castello be used on a highly wind-exposed rooftop terrace?
Does the Castello have heating for using the terrace in winter?
Yes. The Castello supports optional infrared heaters integrated into the structure, along with rainwater gutters and a dimmable RGBW LED lighting system. The combination of these three accessories makes the Castello a solution for extending terrace use during the autumn and winter months, keeping the space comfortable and operational regardless of the weather.
How many sizes does the Glatz Castello come in?
The Castello is available in 16 standard formats: round formats from Ø 350 cm to Ø 600 cm (8.7 m² to 25.5 m²), square from 300×300 to 500×500 cm, and rectangular from 350×300 to 550×450 cm. Additionally, special sizes and intermediate dimensions are available to order. Mast extensions allow up to +800 mm / -800 mm of height adjustment.
How does the Castello differ from the Fortero or the Fortello?
All three belong to the Glatz F line and share the same design. The differences are: the Fortero and the Fortello reach up to 65 and 80 km/h respectively, whilst the Castello reaches 100 km/h. The Castello also features RGBW colour LED lighting, infrared heating, water gutters and anti-theft systems — options not available on the other two models. The Castello’s mast (Ø 90 mm) is also more robust than that of the Fortero (Ø 55 mm) or the Fortello (Ø 67 mm).
Can the Castello be customised with corporate colours?
Yes. The Castello is available in anthracite RAL 7016 at no extra charge and in any RAL colour with powder coating at an additional cost. The cover accepts printed designs and advertising graphics, special frills and piping, as well as technical fabrics such as Glatz Green®, flame-retardant and PVC materials for projects with specific regulations. Cortinsa manages these specifications directly with Glatz AG.
