Why the Glatz Fortero Parasol is different
F Pro contract line
Unified design with the Fortello Pro and Fortino Pro models. The aesthetic consistency of the F Pro range makes it easy to equip large hospitality terraces with parasols sharing an identical formal language.
Counter-opening via tensioning lever
Telescopic quick-opening system using a sliding mechanism and tensioning lever. The generous closed height means furniture does not need to be moved when folding the parasol — a key advantage on terraces in continuous service.
Up to 65 km/h certified in wind tunnel
Wind-tunnel tested. EN-AW-6063-T5 aluminium structure with A4 stainless steel fixings and glass-fibre-reinforced plastic components (PA6GF30). Suitable for corrosive environments.
Bespoke contract customisation
Mast extensions up to +300 mm / −550 mm, Glatz Green® ecological fabric, third-party flame-retardant textiles, valances and special trims, printed and advertising designs to order.

PARASOLS
The Glatz Fortero Parasol: designed for professional gastronomy
The Glatz Fortero parasol is the solar protection solution for hospitality terraces that combines structural strength with exceptionally fast operation. It belongs to the Glatz F Pro line, a unified design programme that shares an architectural language with the Fortello and Fortino models, conceived to equip restaurant terraces where visual coherence and durability are the priority.
With five sizes available ranging from 6 m² (300×200 cm) to 12.3 m² (350×350 cm), the Fortero contract parasol provides effective coverage for both individual tables and large terrace areas. The 300×300 cm format, with 9 m² of surface area and resistance to 60 km/h winds, is the most sought after by restaurants and bars with medium-sized terraces. The rectangular 300×200 cm variant offers the greatest wind resistance in the entire range: up to 65 km/h (Beaufort 8) with fixed anchoring. See our complete selection of professional Glatz parasols to compare the full range.
Lever-tensioner opening: continuous service without interruption
The technical feature most valued by hospitality teams is the counter-opening lever-tensioner principle. Unlike conventional systems, the telescopic mechanism of the Glatz Fortero allows the parasol to be opened and closed in a matter of seconds without needing to move furniture, thanks to its generous closed height. On a restaurant terrace or hotel terrace where time between sittings is minimal, this feature makes an operational difference. If your project requires integrated exterior solutions, our hospitality and HORECA solutions page features combinations of parasols, pergolas and awnings for every type of space.
The synchronous opening ensures that the protective cover is tensioned uniformly and automatically thanks to the flexible ends of the crossbars, eliminating the need for manual tensioning maintenance. The covers are replaceable and interchangeable, making aesthetic updates or fabric changes straightforward without replacing the entire structure.
Contract materials for demanding environments
The frame of the Glatz Fortero centre-pole parasol is manufactured in anodised aluminium EN-AW-6063-T5, with A4 stainless steel screws and rivets and glass-fibre-reinforced plastic components (PA6GF30). The anodising provides greater surface hardness, abrasion resistance and corrosion protection, making it particularly suitable for installations in coastal or high-density urban environments where salinity and pollution accelerate the deterioration of conventional materials.
The two-piece profiled mast with Ø 55 mm cross-section and 2.5 mm wall thickness provides the rigidity needed to maintain stability in windy conditions without adding unnecessary weight. The Glatz Fortero professional outdoor parasol is available in three fabric qualities: 100% polyacrylic ~300 g/m² for maximum UV resistance in permanent installations, 100% polyester ~250 g/m² and 100% polyester ~220 g/m² for projects with higher image turnover. For projects requiring greater structural coverage, bioclimatic pergolas are the most common complementary solution on hospitality terraces.
Cortinsa, official Glatz distributor in Barcelona and Madrid
As the official Glatz distributor in Barcelona and Madrid, Cortinsa provides comprehensive technical advice for specifying the most suitable HORECA parasol for each project. Our team analyses wind exposure conditions, the area to be covered, the available anchoring system and customisation requirements — branding, fire-retardant technical fabrics, mast extensions — to ensure an installation that meets the demands of each space.
The Glatz Fortero features an immediate delivery programme for the most in-demand sizes and configurations, enabling lead times to be reduced on construction or terrace renovation projects. If the project requires printed advertising on the cover, Glatz Green® fabric or specific mast adaptations, Cortinsa manages the special manufacturing directly with Glatz AG. For projects in which combining the Glatz Fortero parasol with other outdoor solar protection systems is being considered, see our full range at professional outdoor shade.
