Why the Glatz Sunwing Parasol is Different
Side mast: unobstructed shade
The Glatz Sunwing is a side-mast parasol: the pole sits outside the shaded area, leaving the entire space beneath the canopy completely clear. Ideal for garden tables, sun loungers, and terraces where a central mast would be an obstruction.
360° rotation and bilateral tilt
The canopy rotates 360° around the mast and tilts bilaterally via the integrated tilt bar. It allows you to position the shade precisely according to the sun’s position throughout the day without needing to move the base.
Two height positions and crank opening
The self-locking crank allows the parasol to be opened and closed with ease. Available in two crank height positions —125 cm and 195 cm— to suit different outdoor furniture heights.
Natural or anthracite with optional LED
Frame available in natural anodised aluminium or anthracite powder-coated. Protective cover included as standard. Compatible with Osyrion spot LED lighting with battery.

PARASOLS
Glatz Sunwing Parasol: side mast and 360° rotation for gardens and terraces
The Glatz Sunwing: compact and versatile for residential spaces
The Glatz Sunwing parasol is the most compact and accessible side-mast model in the Glatz range for residential use. With four sizes available — from 6.4 m² (Ø 300 cm) to 7.7 m² (Ø 330 cm) — it meets the needs of most domestic terraces and gardens without compromising on the Swiss build quality that characterises the entire brand. Browse our full selection of available Glatz parasols to compare the complete range.
Like all Glatz side-mast parasols, the Sunwing positions the post to the side of the space, leaving the shaded area completely clear. It is the standard solution for garden tables, hammocks, sun loungers beside the pool, and any outdoor space where a central mast would be awkward or restrict furniture arrangement. Its anodised aluminium frame with 8-rib structure ensures durability and lightness in an easy-to-install format.
360° rotation and bilateral tilt: shade where you need it
The defining feature of the Glatz Sunwing is its orientation system: the canopy rotates 360° around the mast and tilts bilaterally thanks to the integrated tilt bar. This allows the shade position to be adjusted throughout the day without moving the base — particularly practical in gardens with changing sun exposure. For south- or west-facing terraces where the sun drops quickly in the afternoon, bilateral tilt makes a real difference to comfort. If you are looking for more structural sun protection for larger spaces, bioclimatic pergolas are the standard alternative for more ambitious residential projects.
Opening and closing are operated via a self-locking crank handle, which holds the parasol in the desired position without the need for additional fixing systems. The parasol offers two crank handle height positions — 125 cm and 195 cm — to suit different outdoor furniture heights.
Easy installation and maintenance for everyday use
The Sunwing garden parasol is designed for everyday residential use: lightweight, easy to open and close, and simple to maintain. The protective cover is included as standard, extending the fabric’s service life by protecting it during periods of reduced use. The self-tensioning ribs ensure the fabric always remains taut without the need for manual adjustment.
The quality-5 fabric in 100% polyacrylic ~300 g/m² with UV protection > 98% is the most common standard for permanent garden installations. For projects looking to combine the Sunwing with other outdoor sun-protection elements, visit our outdoor shade for gardens and terraces section.
Cortinsa, official Glatz distributor in Barcelona and Madrid
As official Glatz distributor in Barcelona and Madrid, Cortinsa provides guidance on choosing the most suitable garden parasol based on the space, solar orientation, and aesthetic preferences of each residential project. The choice between round, square, or rectangular formats, and between natural and anthracite finishes, are decisions that Cortinsa helps resolve, including a technical site visit.
The Glatz Sunwing is compatible with concrete and granite bases, as well as wheeled frames that allow it to be repositioned as the project requires. For luxury residential projects where the parasol forms part of an integrated garden or terrace scheme, the Cortinsa team coordinates installation with other sun-protection systems.

Frequently asked questions about the Glatz Sunwing Parasol
Can the Glatz Sunwing rotate to follow the sun throughout the day?
Yes. The Glatz Sunwing incorporates a bilateral tilting bar that allows the canopy to be angled to follow the position of the sun throughout the day without moving the base. For south- or west-facing terraces where the sun drops quickly in the afternoon, this bilateral tilt makes a real difference to comfort. Browse our full range of Glatz parasols if you need more orientation options.
What is the difference between the Glatz Sunwing and the Glatz Pendalex?
How heavy should the base of the Glatz Sunwing be?
Can the Glatz Sunwing be installed on a balcony?
It depends on the available space. The Sunwing requires the lateral mast to be positioned outside the shaded area, which means there must be a zone where the base can be anchored or supported safely. For narrow balconies or those with weight restrictions, it is advisable to consult Cortinsa to assess the most suitable fixing system and verify that the balcony can bear the weight of the base.
Does the Glatz Sunwing fabric provide sun protection?
Does the protective cover come included with the Glatz Sunwing?
The protective cover is available as an accessory for the Glatz Sunwing. Using it when the parasol is not in use significantly extends the lifespan of the fabric, especially during the winter months or in periods of prolonged rainfall. Consult Cortinsa to find out the exact configuration included in your order.
