The Pratic Phoenix Free is the model within the Phoenix family designed for residential terraces and standard-scale outdoor spaces where the characteristic intermediate arches of the family are sought in more contained dimensions. With up to 600 cm of depth — compared to 1000 cm for the Phoenix Air — the Free offers the same dynamic formal language and the same versatility of freestanding or wall-mounted installation, in a format suited to the majority of garden terraces, patios, and roof terraces.
Like its sister model the Phoenix Air, the Free incorporates intermediate arches that run transversally across the structure, supporting the PVC canopy with a tensioning system that eliminates wind vibration and lends a dynamic, contemporary character. The result is a pergola that reads as a design element in its own right, with a lighter and more expressive formal presence than conventional load-bearing-profile pergolas.
The Phoenix Free is available as a freestanding version with four 10 × 15 cm posts — requiring no fixing wall — or as a wall-mounted version for terraces where wall fixings are available. Modules can be flanked to cover wider surfaces. Compatible with the Set modular platform for installations on uneven ground or where drilling into existing paving is not desired.
The PVC canopy packs away into a compact space with integrated motorisation, allowing movement from full cover to complete open-sky in a single operation. The lateral drainage channel directs rainwater outwards when the canopy is deployed. Controllable via remote control, app, or home automation with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

The Pratic Phoenix Free aluminium pergola is the Phoenix family’s version for residential terraces and outdoor spaces of standard scale. Sharing the same intermediate arch structure and the same dynamic formal language as the Phoenix Air, but with a maximum depth of 600 cm suited to most garden, patio and roof terrace settings, the Phoenix Free brings the family’s light, contemporary character to projects where the Air’s dimensions would be excessive. Available in freestanding or wall-mounted versions, custom-made in Italy with Qualicoat Seaside Class 2 powder coating. At Cortinsa we install the Pratic Phoenix Free in Barcelona and Madrid with a technical survey and installation by our own team.
The Pratic Phoenix Free and the Pratic Phoenix Air share the same design, 10 × 15 cm posts, freestanding or wall-mounted installation, and all optional extras. The only difference is maximum depth: the Free reaches 600 cm, the Air reaches 1000 cm. For the majority of residential terraces, gardens and patios whose depth does not exceed 6 metres, the Phoenix Free delivers exactly the same formal and technical result as the Air within dimensions more closely matched to the space. If the project requires more than 6 metres of depth, the Phoenix Air is the appropriate choice.
The freestanding version of the Pratic Phoenix Free makes it the ideal bespoke aluminium pergola for gardens without access to a façade, inner courtyards and terraces where the structure must function as an independent element. Its intermediate arch design and 10 × 15 cm posts set it visually apart from other aluminium pergolas on the market, with a contemporary character that fits high-end architecture and interior design projects. For projects requiring technical specification, our BIM Library contains the Revit (.rfa) and IFC files for the Pratic range. Cortinsa installs the Pratic Phoenix Free in Barcelona, Madrid and the surrounding metropolitan area, with over 20 years of experience in pergolas and technical sun protection.
The intermediate arches are structural elements that run transversally across the pergola, supporting the PVC canvas with a tensioning system that eliminates wind vibrations and lends a dynamic, contemporary visual character. It is the design element that distinguishes the Phoenix family from the rest of Pratic’s aluminium pergolas with canvas.
No. The Pratic Phoenix Free is not compatible with the Glass Series or Raso awnings. For aluminium pergolas with fabric and glass side enclosures, the recommended model is Pratic Nomo.
