The reference bioclimatic pergola for private homes and gardens. Powder-coated extruded aluminium louvres adjustable from 0° to 120°, structure with 13 × 13 cm section pillars, patented sealed system against rain, and natural convection ventilation technology integrated into the louvre structure itself.
The aluminium louvres of the Gibus Joy can be adjusted from 0° to 120° via motorised operation. At 0° a natural upward airflow is created through the louvres. At 45°–120° direct solar radiation is blocked with complete safety. At 90° the closed louvres effectively shed rain, channelling water to the downpipes. The patented sealing system between the louvres and the perimeter guarantees a watertight cover.
Sun exposure on the outer face of the louvres generates heat that induces a natural convection movement of air from bottom to top. This passive ventilation provides comfort in the space below naturally and without energy consumption, reducing the sensation of heat even on the hottest days without the need for active air conditioning.
The Gibus Joy is available in a freestanding version with a base module of 4 posts and in a front or side wall-mounted version with a base module of 2 posts. The modular system allows the installation to be expanded by coupling additional modules with shared pillars to cover larger surface areas.
The Gibus Joy is available with integrated LED lighting built into the louvre structure, creating a luminous ambience fully integrated into the cover with no visible external elements. It is the standard option in residential garden installations where night-time use of the space is common.
The structure of the Gibus Joy comprises square-section pillars of 13 × 13 cm and a perimeter frame 25 cm high, both in powder-coated extruded aluminium. The proportion between the pillar and the frame creates a light and elegant appearance that integrates into any garden without dominating the space.

The Gibus Joy bioclimatic pergola is the reference solution for transforming a garden or terrace into a liveable space throughout the year. Its adjustable aluminium louvres, orientable from 0° to 120°, allow you to control light, ventilation and rain protection with a single motorised system, without the need to combine different products. The natural convection ventilation technology integrated into the louvre structure itself provides comfort in the space below without any energy consumption. At Cortinsa we install the Gibus Joy in Barcelona and Madrid with a manufacturer’s warranty and our own technical team.
The Joy bioclimatic pergola and a textile pergola such as a Markilux solve the same problem — covering an outdoor space — but with different philosophies. The Joy, with its aluminium louvres, is watertight when the louvres are closed, manages ventilation actively and has a service life requiring no significant maintenance. The textile pergola is more affordable, has a visually lighter profile and allows specific fabrics for different levels of privacy or light filtering. The choice depends on the intended use of the space and the level of investment.
The modular nature of the Gibus Joy makes it possible to cover both a small 2 × 2 m terrace and a large garden by coupling modules with shared posts. In the freestanding version, modules can be expanded in all four directions. In the wall-mounted version, the structure shares one side with the building façade, reducing the number of posts and the visual impact on the garden. Our technical team designs the most suitable configuration for each space during the on-site measuring visit.
At Cortinsa we install the Gibus Joy bioclimatic pergola in Barcelona, Madrid and the surrounding metropolitan area, including a technical measuring visit, bespoke manufacturing and installation by our own team. If you have a garden or terrace that requires solar protection with adjustable louvres, request your free, no-obligation quote.
The Gibus Joy is Gibus’s entry-level model, with 13 × 13 cm posts and maximum dimensions of 610 × 450 cm. The Gibus Twist is the premium, highest-capacity model, with more robust posts, a greater maximum width (up to 670 cm) and greater projection (up to 600 cm). The Joy is the most popular choice for residential gardens; the Twist for hospitality projects and large areas.
