The Gibus Sway does not have louvres that pivot on their axis like the Joy or the Twist — its louvres retract and compact laterally in a single movement, leaving the space completely open to the sky. It is the most minimalist model in the Gibus family, with a slender structure of 13 × 13 cm pillars and a 25 cm perimeter frame, and the only one designed to accommodate lateral enclosures and glazing directly on the structure.
The defining technology of the Gibus Sway is its retractable louvres: in a single movement they rotate and compact into a small space, allowing full light to enter. Unlike models with orientable louvres that always occupy the roof plane, the Sway can fully retract the cover when the weather allows, transforming the pergola into an open structure with no visible louvres.
In the closed position at 0°, the sealing system fitted to the louvres and around the perimeter of the structure guarantees waterproofing and airtightness. The watertight cover channels water into integrated downpipes without any infiltration.
The Gibus Sway structure is designed to accommodate lateral enclosures and glazing directly on the pillars, making it possible to fully enclose the outdoor space when required. It is the most suitable option for projects where the pergola forms part of a seasonally enclosed space.
Square-section pillars of 13 × 13 cm and a perimeter frame 25 cm high in powder-coated extruded aluminium. The slender proportions of the profiles create a lightweight visual that integrates seamlessly into contemporary and minimalist architecture.
Available as a freestanding version (4 posts), front-attached (2 posts), side-attached (2 posts), and wall-mounted version. The modular system allows the installation to be extended by coupling modules with shared pillars.

The Gibus Sway bioclimatic pergola is the most distinctive model in the Gibus family thanks to its retractable louvre system: in a single movement, the louvres rotate and compact laterally, leaving the space completely open to the sky when the weather allows. It is the solution for those who want a pergola that, as well as providing protection, can visually disappear when not needed. At Cortinsa we install the Gibus Sway in Barcelona and Madrid with a manufacturer’s warranty and our own technical team.
All models in the Gibus family feature aluminium louvres, but the Gibus Sway is the only one with retractable louvres. The Joy, Twist, Varia and Movie models have louvres that pivot on their axis from 0° to 120° — always present in the roof plane, regulating the amount of sunlight and ventilation but without retracting completely. The Sway, by contrast, moves the louvres laterally and compacts them at one end, leaving the roof entirely clear. For those who value being able to enjoy the night sky or the rain from the pergola without dismantling anything, the Sway is the only option.
The structure of the Gibus Sway is specifically designed to accommodate side enclosures and glazing directly on the uprights. This compatibility makes it the perfect basis for creating a seasonal enclosed space, combining the bioclimatic pergola with sliding or fixed glass panels on the sides for a fully habitable and protected space even in winter.

The Gibus Sway is a modular bioclimatic pergola with retractable aluminium louvres that, in a single movement, rotate and compact to let in full light. Slender structure with 13 × 13 cm posts, up to 610 × 425 cm, compatible with side enclosures.
The main difference is the type of slats. The Gibus Joy has orientable slats that pivot from 0° to 120° on their axis, always remaining in the plane of the roof. The Gibus Sway has retractable slats that compact laterally in a single movement, leaving the roof completely clear.
Yes. With the blades in the closed position at 0°, the patented perimeter sealing system guarantees water and air impermeability, channelling water towards the integrated downpipes in the posts.
Maximum width of 610 cm and maximum projection of 425 cm per module. Modular system expandable by coupling additional modules with shared posts.
