The Gibus Velvet Plus is the only model in the Gibus family with folding louvres: the louvres fold and compact at one end of the module, leaving the roof completely clear, unlike the Velvet, which has orientable louvres that remain permanently in the plane of the roof. The space occupied by the folded louvres (z) varies between 40 and 140 cm depending on the module’s projection.
The Velvet Plus louvres fold and compact into the rear zone of the module, leaving the majority of the roof clear. The folding space (z) is 40 cm for modules with a 207 cm projection, 65 cm for 307 cm, 90 cm for 407 cm, 115 cm for 507 cm and 140 cm for 607 cm. The result is a virtually open roof that allows you to enjoy the sky, rain or direct sunlight with no element in the upper visual plane.
With the louvres extended and in the closed position, the patented sealing system guarantees a watertight cover. The sealing mechanism is mounted on the louvre itself and along the perimeter of the structure, directing water to the integrated downpipes in the posts.
The 29 cm perimeter frame of the Velvet Plus sits between the Velvet (28 cm) and the Varia/Twist (31 cm). The posts maintain the standard 13 × 13 cm square section common to the entire Gibus family.
Unlike most models in the family where the width is greater than or equal to the projection, the Velvet Plus has a maximum projection of 607 cm compared to a maximum width of 450 cm. It is the model with the greatest relative projection in the entire range, particularly suited to terraces and gardens where the depth dimension is greater than the width.
Available as freestanding (4 posts), front wall-mounted (2 posts) and side wall-mounted (2 posts). Modular system, couplable with shared posts.

The Gibus Velvet Plus bioclimatic pergola is the model in the Gibus family with folding slats: when the weather allows, the slats fold and compact into the rear section of the module, leaving the roof virtually clear. It is the option for those who want to enjoy the open sky on summer nights or direct natural light without dismantling anything, while retaining the ability to fully close the cover in the event of rain or intense sun. At Cortinsa we install the Gibus Velvet Plus in Barcelona and Madrid with a manufacturer’s warranty and our own technical team.
The Gibus family offers three different approaches to opening the roof. The Gibus Velvet has orientable slats that control light and ventilation by pivoting on their axis, yet always remain in the plane of the roof. The Gibus Sway has retractable slats that slide and compact laterally, leaving the roof clear in a single movement. The Gibus Velvet Plus has folding slats that fold and compact into the rear section. The difference between Sway and Velvet Plus lies in the opening mechanism and the distribution of the compaction space.
The Gibus Velvet Plus has a maximum projection of 607 cm compared to a maximum width of 450 cm, making it the most suitable model in the range for terraces and gardens where the depth dimension is greater than the width — the typical case for terraces adjoining homes where the façade limits the width but the garden depth is generous.
At Cortinsa we install the Gibus Velvet Plus bioclimatic pergola in Barcelona, Madrid and the surrounding metropolitan area, with a technical measuring visit, bespoke manufacture and installation by our own team. Request your free, no-obligation quote.
The folding space (z) varies according to the module projection: 40 cm for a 207 cm projection, 65 cm for 307 cm, 90 cm for 407 cm, 115 cm for 507 cm, and 140 cm for a 607 cm projection.
Maximum width of 450 cm and maximum projection of 607 cm per module. It is the model with the greatest relative projection in the entire Gibus range, particularly suited to terraces where the depth is greater than the width.
