Markilux textile pergolas use premium fabrics manufactured in Germany with anti-UV treatment, weather resistance, and fade-proof colours. Over 200 fabric references available.
Extruded aluminium profiles lacquered in RAL finishes. Each textile pergola is manufactured to measure for the exact dimensions of the space. Available in freestanding or wall-mounted versions depending on the project.
Classic, Cubic, Compact, Stretch and Style — five systems with different designs, structures and dimensions to meet the needs of any terrace, garden or outdoor space.
Technical data sheets, BIM files in Revit (.rfa) and IFC formats available in our BIM Library for direct incorporation into your project.
The manual version is sufficient for textile pergolas in residential use with occasional opening. Motorisation is worthwhile for pergolas with a projection of more than 4 m — where manual operation can be awkward —, in hospitality installations where staff operate the pergola frequently, or when you want to integrate automation with wind and rain sensors. The Markilux motor is quiet and long-lasting, with the option of a remote control and app control.
Markilux offers more than 200 fabric references across several collections. Sunsilk fabrics are the highest quality, featuring acrylic-coated polyester yarn, high UV resistance, and a silky texture. Sunvas fabrics offer an optimal price-to-quality ratio with a wide range of colours. For projects requiring maximum resistance to rain and dirt, fabrics with a Teflon finish are the recommended option. Cortinsa advises on fabric selection according to the orientation of the terrace and its intended use.
Choose Stretch or Style if the project has a strong design component and the textile pergola forms part of an architectural or exterior interiors project. The tensioned canvas creates a cover with clean lines and an architectural appearance that conventional canvas models cannot achieve. The choice between Stretch and Style depends on the visual profile and specific dimensions of the project — Cortinsa advises on a technical site visit.
A textile pergola is an aluminium structure incorporating a high-quality retractable canopy as its upper covering. Unlike bioclimatic pergolas —whose covering consists of adjustable aluminium louvres— or PVC roof systems —which are installed between walls—, the Markilux textile pergola combines the solidity of a freestanding or wall-mounted aluminium structure with the visual warmth and customisation versatility of a premium outdoor fabric. The retractable canopy retracts completely when not needed, leaving the space open, and extends to provide protection from the sun or light rain depending on the model and fabric chosen. Markilux manufactures in Germany with more than 70 years of experience in awnings and outdoor pergolas: the fabrics, aluminium profiles and mechanisms of the textile pergola are manufactured and quality-controlled at source, guaranteeing a level of build quality and durability that systems assembled from components by different manufacturers cannot match. Cortinsa has been an official Markilux installer in Barcelona and Madrid for more than 25 years.
The Markilux textile pergola range includes five models with distinct designs, structures and dimensions. The Markilux Classic is the reference model: a rectangular textile pergola with retractable canopy, available in wall-mounted and freestanding versions, with optional motorisation and sensors. The Markilux Cubic shares the same structural logic with a more contemporary design featuring cubic lines. The Markilux Compact is specifically designed for textile pergolas in confined spaces where larger models will not fit, without compromising on the brand’s build quality or fabric range. The Markilux Stretch uses a tensioned canopy that creates a covering with clean architectural lines, commonly specified in contemporary design projects and high-end hospitality settings. The Markilux Style is the model with the strongest aesthetic component in the range, designed for projects where the textile pergola is the centrepiece of the exterior design.
The choice of fabric is the most decisive decision in a textile pergola: it defines the level of solar protection, rain resistance, behaviour against dirt and aesthetic integration with the surroundings. Markilux offers more than 200 fabric references across several collections. Sunsilk fabrics —polyester with an acrylic coating— are the highest in quality and durability, with a silky texture and long-lasting colours that do not fade. Sunvas fabrics offer an optimal quality-to-price ratio with a wide range of plain and printed colours. For hospitality projects or terraces with high exposure to rain, fabrics with a Teflon finish offer the greatest resistance to dirt and water. The choice of fabric also affects the solar factor: Cortinsa advises on selecting the optimum fabric for each orientation and use. The Markilux fabric range can be consulted and sampled during the technical visit.
As official Markilux installers in Barcelona and Madrid, Cortinsa advises on selecting the most suitable model —Classic, Cubic, Compact, Stretch or Style— based on the dimensions of the space, orientation, required design level and available budget. The free technical visit includes on-site measurement, fabric selection with physical samples and advice on the most appropriate fixing system. The Markilux textile pergola is custom-manufactured in Germany using the exact measurements of each installation, guaranteeing a perfect fit without the need for on-site adaptations. For projects requiring prior technical specification, the Cortinsa BIM Library makes Revit (.rfa) and IFC files for Markilux models available to architects and engineers for direct incorporation into their projects. Cortinsa also coordinates the integration of the textile pergola with other solar protection systems —side awnings, curtains or parasols— when the project requires it.

In Barcelona we install Markilux textile pergolas on terraces in the Eixample, Sarrià and Sant Gervasi, gardens of detached houses on the Costa Garraf, Sitges and Sant Cugat, and restaurant terraces in the Born, Barceloneta and Diagonal. The breadth of the Markilux range —five models with over 200 fabrics— means we can respond to any project, from a small penthouse terrace with the Compact to a large hospitality terrace with the motorised Classic.
In Madrid we install textile pergolas on terraces of detached houses in Pozuelo de Alarcón, Las Rozas and La Moraleja, penthouses in the Salamanca and Chamberí districts, and restaurants in the Almagro area and the historic centre. Madrid’s climate —with summers of intense solar radiation— makes a textile pergola with high solar-factor fabric a particularly worthwhile investment for maximising terrace use during the summer months.

The main difference is the type of cover. A textile pergola has a retractable fabric canopy as its upper cover. A bioclimatic pergola has adjustable aluminium louvres that allow you to regulate light intake and ventilation with greater precision and without needing to retract the cover. The textile pergola is generally more affordable and offers greater aesthetic variety thanks to the range of fabrics. The bioclimatic pergola offers superior technical performance and is better suited to year-round use in areas with frequent rainfall.
It depends on the fabric. PVC fabrics and fabrics with a Teflon finish offer protection against light and moderate rain. Standard acrylic fabrics are water-resistant but not fully waterproof in heavy rainfall. For use in areas with frequent precipitation, Cortinsa recommends selecting the appropriate fabric during the technical visit.
Markilux textile pergolas are manufactured to measure in Germany. The standard production lead time is 4 to 6 weeks from order confirmation. On-site installation is generally completed in one or two days, depending on the dimensions and complexity of the installation. Cortinsa coordinates delivery logistics and installation with the client.
Yes. Cortinsa has physical Markilux fabric sample books available for consultation during the technical visit. With over 200 references available, the choice of fabric is one of the most important decisions in the project and it is always recommended to consult the physical samples — the colour and texture of outdoor fabrics varies significantly between screen and reality.
