For the historic Capella de Santa María del Mar, in Barcelona, Cortinsa designed and installed a perimeter iron structure of 1085×525 cm and 300 cm in height, with 60×60 cm pillars and invisible feet, achieving a sober, stable solution perfectly integrated into the heritage setting.
Over this structure, a technical fabric with continuous tension was stretched, providing coverage and visual protection without altering the architectural essence of the space. In addition, a handcrafted iron lectern was fabricated, treated manually through a controlled oxidation process to achieve the specific tone required by the project.
This work highlights Cortinsa’s artisanal and technical capability to intervene in spaces of high historical value with precision, respect and aesthetic sensitivity.
