Why the Markilux 5010 is Different

Filigree oval cassette of just 151 mm in height — covers up to 700 × 400 cm with the slimmest silhouette in the Markilux large-format range.

Optional super-shade up to 300 cm: vertical awning on the front profile with independent manual operation for complete glare protection and added privacy.

Dual arm options: twin corrosion-resistant steel chains (coastal environments) or silent bionic tendon. Ø 85 mm galvanised steel roller tube for maximum stability.

Two-piece oval cassette 218 × 151 mm

Integrated fabric valance that protects the cloth without additional end caps. Semi-round front profile with integrated water channel and silent rain drainage.

Up to 700 × 400 cm · coupled configuration available

The largest format in the Markilux filigree range. Also available in a coupled configuration to cover even greater surface areas with a single motor.

Super-shade up to 300 cm (optional)

Vertical awning on the front profile with independent manual operation. Solar protection at low angles and privacy without additional side elements.

Dual arm technology

Twin corrosion-resistant steel-rod chains or bionic tendon. Stainless-steel connecting elements with bronze bushings and PTFE coating.

Galvanised steel roller tube Ø 85 mm

Same specification as the 3300 model. Optimum stability across large spans with textile roller support bearings.

Large format, filigree silhouette

In the Markilux catalogue, the Markilux 5010 box awning occupies a singular position: the power of a model for large surfaces — up to 700 × 400 cm — with an oval, filigree profile of just 151 mm in height that integrates into the façade with a visual lightness that large-format square box awnings cannot offer. It is the awning for those who need to cover a large area without the awning visually dominating the entire façade. Cortinsa, as an official Markilux installer in Barcelona and Madrid, carries out on-site measurement, anchor calculations, and certified installation tailored to each façade situation.
The 5010’s two-piece oval box incorporates an integrated valance for the fabric, protecting the canvas from sun and rain when the awning is retracted. For environments requiring greater privacy or glare protection, the Markilux 5010 super-shadow system deploys a vertical awning from the front profile of up to 300 cm, with manual operation independent of the main awning. This combination makes it a particularly valued solution for hospitality terraces in Barcelona and Madrid. To view the rest of the range, visit our section of Markilux box awnings organised by dimensions and use.
The 5010’s arm technology offers two options: twin round-steel chains with anti-corrosion protection — particularly suitable in coastal or high-salinity environments — or the bionic high-tech fibre tendon for silent, friction-free force transmission. In both cases the connecting elements are stainless steel with bronze bushings and PTFE coating, virtually maintenance-free. The winding shaft is Ø 85 mm in galvanised steel, ensuring optimum stability in large-surface terrace awnings regardless of the span length.
The Markilux 5010 features a silentec motor as an option for installations in hotels, restaurants, and prestige spaces where acoustic comfort is a priority. For projects requiring technical solar-protection specification, Cortinsa provides BIM files in Revit (.rfa) and IFC formats in the Cortinsa BIM Library. For larger-scale projects, we also install bioclimatic pergolas with adjustable louvres and full enclosure.

Frequently asked questions about the Markilux 5010

What sets the Markilux 5010 apart from the Markilux 3300?

Both cover up to 700 × 400 cm, but the 5010 has a filigree oval hood of 151 mm height compared to the more robust square hood of the 3300 (192 mm). The 5010 prioritises visual integration on façades where hood slenderness is a design criterion, whilst the 3300 features a more robust construction oriented towards intensive professional use.

An optional vertical blind on the front profile that extends up to 300 cm with manual operation independent of the main awning. It protects against glare when the sun is low on the horizon and adds visual privacy without installing additional side elements.

Twin anti-corrosion steel chains are particularly suited to high-salinity environments (coastal locations, swimming pools, seaside hotels). The bionic tendon offers silent, friction-free force transmission, making it more suitable for environments where acoustic comfort is a priority.

Up to 700 cm wide and 400 cm in projection for individual installation. Also available in coupled configuration for even larger surface areas. Minimum width of 187 cm with a minimum projection of 150 cm.

Yes. The tilt angle is adjustable between 5° and 35° or between 36° and 70°, with stepless adjustment. This dual range allows adaptation to any solar orientation when wall-mounted, ceiling-mounted, or rafter-mounted.

Yes. The silentec motor significantly reduces noise levels during opening and closing. Particularly relevant for hotel terraces, high-end restaurants, and spaces where acoustic comfort is part of the customer experience.

Cortinsa provides BIM files in Revit (.rfa) and IFC formats, compatible with ArchiCAD, Vectorworks, Navisworks and any BIM software. Available with free professional registration in the Cortinsa BIM Library.
