The Markilux 730 and the Markilux 830 are cassette straight-drop awnings with folding arms for windows and balconies. Unlike vertical roller awnings that descend from the lintel, the straight-drop awning projects the fabric outwards and downwards via spring-loaded folding arms, providing solar protection both horizontally and at an angle in front of the window. With a projection of up to 700 cm and the option of telescopic support tubes for balconies requiring no structural work, they are the most complete solution for windows that need a sun-protection system with a distinctive visual presence. The Markilux 730/830 straight-drop awning creates an angled shade surface that projects outwards from the window, with fabric running from the cassette at the lintel to the front bar supported by the folding arms. The shade it generates is greater than that of a vertical awning of the same projection, and allows light to pass through and lateral visibility even when the awning is extended. The vertical roller awning, by contrast, creates an opaque screen directly in front of the glass, offering greater privacy control but less natural light.
The telescopic aluminium support tube option for the Markilux 730/830, with an adjustable height of 218 to 320 cm, allows the awning to be installed on balconies where there is no possibility of anchoring the front bar to the wall or railing. The tubes are fixed between the balcony floor and ceiling without structural fixings, making this the most sought-after solution in residential communities that restrict work on façades and structures.
