Why the Glatz Palazzo Parasol is different
One family, three variants: Style, Noblesse and Royal
All three models share the design language of the Palazzo range and the same structural characteristics: continuous mast to the ground, opening via patented toothed belt and EN-AW-6063-T66 aluminium. The difference lies in scale: the Style covers 6 to 25 m², the Noblesse 11 to 36 m² and the Royal 17 to 49 m². All three allow different formats to be combined within the same space whilst maintaining complete visual coherence.
Patented toothed-belt opening: exceptionally fast for its size
The Glatz-patented toothed-belt opening mechanism allows the parasol to be opened with just a few turns of the crank: 4–13 on the Style, 7–17 on the Noblesse and 14–19 on the Royal. For parasols of this scale, this opening speed is unique on the market. Motorisation is optional on all three models and enables automated opening on projects with multiple units.
RGBW LED, heating, gutters and home automation
All three Palazzo models support RGBW LED lighting integrated into the ribs (adjustable colour), infrared heaters, rainwater gutters and a BUS system or home automation connection. This last option — unique within the Glatz range — allows the parasol to be integrated into smart building installations or centralised terrace control systems.
Up to 120 km/h and integrated anti-theft
Style and Royal reach up to 120 km/h with fixed anchorage; the Noblesse up to 110 km/h (reinforced design available). All three incorporate an integrated anti-theft system and use protection. RAL 7016 anthracite at no extra charge on all three models, with any RAL colour available at a surcharge. Mast extensions up to +1,000 mm / -500 mm on all three.

PARASOLS
Glatz Palazzo Parasol: the family of giant parasols for large-scale exterior projects
Three variants for any project scale
The Glatz Palazzo Parasol family brings together three models —Style, Noblesse and Royal— that share design, opening technology and options, differing only in scale. The Palazzo Style covers 6 to 25 m² (formats from Ø 300 to 500×500 cm), the Palazzo Noblesse 11 to 36 m² (Ø 400 to 600×600 cm) and the Palazzo Royal 17 to 49 m² (Ø 500 to 800×600 cm), with more than 50 standard formats available across the three models in addition to special sizes made to order. Browse the full range of Glatz parasols for hospitality and contract.
All three models share the design language of the Palazzo line, with a continuous-profile mast down to floor level and crossbars of larger dimensions than the rest of the Glatz range. EN-AW-6063-T66 aluminium with A4 stainless-steel hardware defines a construction conceived for permanent installations in hospitality venues, hotels, resorts, public squares and corporate spaces where scale and durability are paramount.
Patented toothed-belt opening system: the secret behind fast opening on giant parasols
The most distinctive technical feature of the Palazzo is its toothed-belt opening system, patented by Glatz. Unlike conventional opening mechanisms that require a large number of turns for large-format parasols, the Palazzo Style opens in 4–13 turns, the Noblesse in 7–17 and the Royal in 14–19. The optional motorisation simplifies the management of terraces with multiple units and can be integrated with the BUS system or home-automation connection available on all three models. For hospitality projects requiring centralised terrace management, visit our hospitality and HORECA solutions section.
The counter-opening mechanism ensures a compact closed height without the need to move furniture when folding the parasol. The cover is available with or without a valance (with a valance, the maximum wind speed is reduced by 10 km/h). The Palazzo Style and Noblesse offer a re-tensionable cover thanks to adjustable crossbar extensions.
LED RGBW, heating and gutters: year-round terrace use in any format
All three models of the Glatz Palazzo accept the same full range of accessories: LED RGBW lighting integrated into the crossbars (dimmable coloured light), infrared heaters, rainwater gutters and home-automation connection. The combination of these four accessories makes it possible to design a permanently usable terrace, operational year-round in any weather conditions. For projects requiring more permanent structures, bioclimatic pergolas are the usual complementary solution for large exterior spaces.
Cortinsa, official Glatz distributor in Barcelona and Madrid
As official Glatz distributor in Barcelona and Madrid, Cortinsa specifies the most suitable giant Palazzo variant for hospitality for each project: analysis of the area to be covered, wind conditions, anchoring base requirements —between 180 kg and 690 kg depending on the format— and accessory configuration. The structure colour, available in anthracite RAL 7016 at no extra charge or in any RAL colour at an additional cost, and fabric personalisation with flame-retardant textiles, Glatz Green® or printed branding, are a regular part of the projects Cortinsa manages directly with Glatz AG.
The Palazzo family can be combined with parasols from the F line (Fortero, Fortello, Fortino) and with the Glatz Castello within the same space, as all share the same formal design language of the Glatz contract range. Frequently asked questions about the Glatz Palazzo Parasol
Do I need building work to install the Glatz Palazzo on my terrace?
To achieve the certified maximum wind speeds, all three models require fixed ground anchoring — a ballast base is not sufficient for this purpose. Base requirements vary by format: from 180 kg for the most compact formats of the Palazzo Style to 690 kg for the largest formats of the Royal. Cortinsa carries out a prior technical visit to assess the conditions of your terrace and specify the most suitable anchoring system. Contact us to arrange the visit.
Can I use the Glatz Palazzo in the rain or in winter?
How long does the Glatz Palazzo take to open?
Can the Palazzo be personalised with my business's logo or colours?
Yes. All three models accept printed and advertising designs on the cover, as well as special technical fabrics — including Glatz Green® and flame-retardant materials —. The structure is available in anthracite RAL 7016 at no extra charge or in any RAL colour at an additional cost. Cortinsa manages these specifications directly with Glatz AG.
Which Palazzo variant is most suitable for my terrace?
It depends on the area to be covered. The Palazzo Style reaches up to 25 m² and is the most common choice for standard restaurant terraces. The Palazzo Noblesse reaches 36 m² and is aimed at large hotel terraces or public spaces. The Palazzo Royal reaches up to 49 m² and is designed for resorts, plazas, and large contract installations. Cortinsa will advise you on the most suitable variant for your project — request a no-obligation consultation.
What is the difference between the Glatz Palazzo and the Glatz Castello?
Both are central-mast parasols for contract use, but with different profiles. The Glatz Castello is designed for highly demanding wind environments (up to 100 km/h in the most compact formats) and supports RGBW colour LED, heating and guttering. The Palazzo adds to all of this giant formats of up to 49 m², opening via a patented toothed belt, motorisation and home-automation connectivity — options not available on the Castello. For large-scale projects, the Palazzo is the natural choice.
